Who We Are, Why We Minglesh

Christine Sawyer

I caught a snowflake on my tongue! :D

Hi guys! This is a place for you, but here's a little about who I am and what I do (and one day, what I'd like to). First off, I'm a senior and public relations major at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. Not sure where that will take me later on, but it's an open avenue. Keeping my fingers crossed for next summer, I'd really like to teach English to schoolchildren in Korea through either the EPIK or TaLK program. How cool will that be?! And they're sooo cute, those Korean kids. K-dramas comprise approximately 94% of my viewing entertainment. You just can't beat a good K-drama (Coffee Prince is #1). On food: I'd like to learn how to cook a full, traditional Korean shik-sa (meal). And the bbang (bread)...there must always be the bbang and the bbang-jip (bakery)...aww yeah! By the way, not many people can guess, but I am the Asian mystery known as the Half Korean. Want to know a secret, though? I am actually full-Korean...in my heart and soul. Now I just need to attain near-native fluency, and I'll be a happy girl - only 1,320 hours of practice to go. Welcome to Minglesh, everyone!

Assignment: Can you post your bios here? Include anything about yourself you'd like (major, places you've been, things you want to do before you turn ___, hobbies, etc.), but also write down your goals for our English study group. I've kept my notes from our introductions, but doing this can help give our meetings (both in person and on this site) a manifest sense of purpose for you!

I'm still looking for bios from...
1) Dong Gun An
2) Chang Hwan Kim
3) Bong Jun Kim
4) Yun Kwak

You can add directly to this post yourself or e-mail me with what you have. Please take a few minutes to do this A.S.A.P. I'm interested in what you'll come up with!
